Restoration is the time that uses entering treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction. It is the beginning of an entirely new life-style. You’ll make friends that have the same goals as you as you start to sober up and take part in your recovery. After treatment, as you begin aftercare, you will develop friendships that can last a lifetime. Some body once said that friends in recovery are like people on your lifeboat from the Titanic, as you are surviving something that is life threatening.

It’s often beneficial to have people in your daily life that understand what you’re going through. In restoration it means even more. You’re with those who have a common problem and a common solution. You gain the benefit of others’ experiences and they have the benefit of yours.

More frequently than not, acquiring new friends in recovery is something that happens naturally. Many people find friends in recovery through 12-step plans and other such support groups. Many people find lifelong friends through various recovery programs help each other in a thing that is indeed personal and because they share this kind of personal connection.

Their significance and friendships are frequently over looked in as numerous people are primarily centered on romantic love. But, friendship is a thing that can help us to and to grow, and it can be very helpful on the way of recovery.
